We took a little day trip to the Washington Coast before the kids went back to school it was about 2 hours from where we live. We had a lot of fun. We took our kites and wagon and buckets and flew the kites and built a sandcastle. Daddy even lost one of the kites to the wind because he let Blaize hold a kite for a minute and turned away helping Sienna and then Blaize let go and the wind took it away. Daddy tried to run after it but it went to fast and the went into the water and just kept going and going further and further out. It was quite the adventure for us all. Lots of fun!

Zoo Geocache Contest

In August I took the kids to the zoo and during one of their shows they talked about family outing that you could do to learn and see more around us in our very own area. They put together a geocache contest which is like treasure hunt and you get to see all kinds of fun new places. They gave us a map of the three locations and clues as to how to find them. We love to geocache as a family and decided to take the challenge.

Sienna really enjoying her ride on daddy's back.

Blaize enjoying the trees and warm weather.

Blaize trailing along

Sariyah opening the treasure box of the last find. In it there was a pin to ware that says I love nature and a slip of paper with a password to enter your names into the contest. You had to have the secert word to enter which would prove that you actually found the cache.

The kids having fun. It wasn't that dark outside yet it was just a bad picture.

This was the first treasure box we found. Can you see it in the tree's (it's a green rubbermaid box)?

Sariyah logging our names that we were found that perticular box. You write your names on each log book when you find a cache not just for the zoo but anytime you geocache.

Savannah is wearing one of the three pins we got when we found the treasure boxes.
The grand prize for doing the geocaching contest was a years membership to the zoo. With each cache you found you could enter everyones name that participated once, so for us we got to enter 6 peoples names each cache. We weren't in it to win just wanted to do it for fun and spend time as a family seeing new places. We had a great time doing it too. (Fast forward to November 2009 )-Just recently I got an email stating that Sienna's name was drawn as the contest winner for the free membership. I was so surprised and so excited because we could not afford another membership this year and was a little sad that we would have to wait probably until next year to go to the zoo again and here we won a free membership. We are very excited and can't wait to go to the zoo again.

Yeah!!!

Lots of fun!

Family Home Evening

For Family Home Evening one night it was Sariyah's turn to give the lesson and we had a lesson on being nice to each other and showing each other how special they are. In the friend magazine there was a story about a girl who made flower headbands for her family and friends to show them how speical they are. So Sariyah read the story and then had everyone make flower headbands for each other. We drew names out of a bowl and whoever's name we pulled that is who we made the headband for. Sariyah and I printed off a bunch of different flowers off of the intranet and she made leaves out of paper and then everyone strung the flowers and leaves on to ribbon and then put it on the head of the person that they had. It was fun and the kids loved making them (with the exception of a 12 year old boy who is at the age that of course this would just be silly but he was still a good sport about it).

Sariyah and Sienna made theirs for each other.

Grandma and Savannah made theirs for each other too!

And Blaize never wanted to take his off he thought this was great!

Mother's Day Tea!

Savannah's Kindergarten class had a little program in class for Mother's Day!
Savannah made these beautiful pictures for me and the flower pot. The picture on the left is a drawing of me and her isn't it cute.

They sang all kinds of great songs for us like counting, alphabet, days of the week and months of the year songs.

Actions during one of her songs.

Trying to count and sing making sure she put up the right amount of fingers!

More fun song actions!

My cute little Savannah. I just love that funny girl so much! We had a lot of fun together and got to eat a lot of really yummy goodies.
Thank you Savannah for loving me so much and making my Mother's Day Tea just a wonderful experience. I am truely blessed to have you as my daughter!

My little MAN!

Our little man Blaize loves to put on the girls headbands. He thinks they are the best things ever and would wear one all day everyday if I let him.

Isn't he so cute!
(Don't you love the 80's look he is pulling too with the one strap on one starp off of his overalls, he just can't seem to keep his arms in his overalls usually both of his staps are down)

We had a very fun filled Easter weekend. The kids and I went to my dad's for Easter weekend and got to spend it also with three of my sisters (LaVon, Shauna, and Janel). We met at a Ranch close to Portland where my dad lives and go on a Easter Hunt, a hayride, see animals and just have a good time being together. The Easter Bunny came and filled baskets but due to the lovely rain was unable to hide the eggs outside so no hunt was to be had. We had a very nice Sunday Easter dinner at my dad's and then we headed home. During that next week the kids and I colored eggs and had a hunt at our home when the weather was nice. The kids enjoyed it very much. Each child found a mommy, daddy or grandma egg and will get to do something fun within the next year with whomever's egg they found. All in all it was a very nice Easter weekend.
